Jayanta Bhai Ki Luv Story (English: Jayanta's Love Story) is a 2009 Bollywood romantic comedy film directed by Ratnaa Sinha, with the music composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. The film stars Sharman Joshi and Anjana Sukhani in lead roles. It released on 17 July 2009 (India). It is an adaptation of "When Harry Met Sally". A young man in his mid twenties, Jayanta Patel (Sharman Joshi), lives with his parents in Mumbai. Jayanta has been brought up in a strictly conservative Gujarati family. Jayanta pours out his feelings about his life to a stranger, amidst a monsoon downpour, at a traffic signal. In his monologue, he reveals how he aspires to be more liberal and open-minded as compared to others. The film flashes back to Jayanta's college days with his friends – Vijay (Vijay Raaz), Ashok (Vinay Pathak) and Mariya (Neha Oberoi). Vijay is a Casanova whom everyone admires and looks upto for inspiration. From the opposite end of the spectrum, there is Mariya who is shy, reserved, submissive but loving towards Jayanta. Jayanta falls in love with Mariya and tries all possible means to make her fall in love with him. The attempts seem futile as even after several dates, she shies away from expressing her love for him. Then one day he overhears someone remarking that all girls are alike – they'll always refuse to say 'I Love You' first. It dawns upon Jayanta that there is no point in marrying someone who will not reciprocate his feelings and he decides to break up with Mariya. It is here that he realizes that although he wants to be liberal and free-spirited, the laws of society will make him conform. So he decides to remain with Mariya even if she doesn't love him. Jayanta's true colours are revealed in his college reunion where he tells his friends that he is in fact the most conservative guy in the group. After this embarrassment, Jayanta decides to break up with Mariya, but when they are about to go their separate ways, she confesses her love for him with a white rose tied around her neck. However after this, she doesn't understand what love means because all she knows are relationships between men and women who never express their love openly but live together out of convenience. cfa1e77820
